I am Paul Bodin, the Pastor of Central Lutheran Church in Spokane, Washington. Central is a congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.
Professionally, I have two main areas of special interest. First,
the scholarly study of the Bible, especially the New Testament,
is fascinating to me. Second, I am particularly interested in
patterns of personal devotion and spirituality, especially with
regard to how people discern or affirm meaning and purpose for
daily life. This latter interest feeds helpful reflection on
worship and pastoral care practices. I am a practicing spiritual director,
trained at Mercy Center in
Burlingame, California, and a member of
Spiritual Directors International.
In addition to professional interests, I read voraciously, especially
mysteries and science fiction, dabble in computer programming,
ski, camp, fish and cook (not necessarily in that order).
